Part of our mission at the CMEC is to support those who lead or teach in local learning communities,
like co-operatives, nature clubs, and TBG groups.
All CMEC members have access to the following:
Community Learning Handbook, videos about setting up a group and the various ways to structure groups, member chats with community leaders, and additional resources.
Community Learning Info & Planning Session, which is a live meeting held each summer to walk through our resources and discuss plans for the upcoming year.
TBG and Plutarch Collections, which provide a way to use specific CMEC resources with non-member families in your local community.
Bulletin Boards to find a local group or share about your own.
We also offer a special Community Learning Support Group for members interested in additional access:
Two live meetings, one in August and one in February. At these meetings, we discuss organizational logistics, the particular challenges and benefits of group lessons, "best practices" in teaching, inspiration for our work, and more. Those who have enrolled will also receive emails for these meetings and links to the recordings afterward.
Community Learning Newsletters, with interviews, tips, and resources specifically for leaders and teachers.
Community Learning Support Group video archive, with time-stamped recordings of past meetings.
Google form to submit your questions and topic suggestions for our meetings and newsletters.
Curated collection of Parents' Review articles on group learning.
All this support is included in your 2025-26 CMEC Membership!
If you lead or teach in a local learning community (or are thinking about starting one!), join us for practical help and inspiration for your work.
